YouTube Shorts is introducing the “Add your own” hashtag, inspired by Instagram’s popular features. This feature will allow users to add photos to their short videos that fit certain themes. For example, users will be able to share personal content with tags such as “the latest photo from your camera roll” or “the first photo of you and your partner”. This move has the potential to make YouTube a more social and interactive platform. Also coming to Shorts is automatic captioning and editing, which will allow creators to be more creative.

YouTube Music’s New AI Features “Hum, Describe, Explore”

On the YouTube Music front, two important innovations utilizing artificial intelligence technology stand out. The “voice search” or “hum to search” feature will make it easier for users to find songs whose title or artist they don’t remember. Users will now be able to search by humming or singing a melody. This will make music discovery more fun and accessible.The second important innovation is a feature called “talk radio”. This AI-powered system allows users to describe the type of music they want. For example, a request such as “a relaxed dinner music with a Latin vibe” will be instantly analyzed by AI and transformed into an appropriate playlist. This feature will allow users to express and explore their musical tastes in more detail.These developments are not limited to YouTube. Rival platform Deezer is also testing a similar feature called “Playlist with AI”. The feature allows users to create new playlists with text commands and is powered by Google’s Gemini 1.5 AI model.

Personalized Experiences from YouTube

All these innovations show how music and video streaming platforms are trying to improve and personalize the user experience. The increasing use of artificial intelligence technology in these areas could dramatically change the way we consume content.
