One of the issues that has been shaking the agenda in the US in recent days is the fate of the popular social media platform TikTok. In the country’s political arena, different perspectives and debates are coming to the fore regarding the potential national security threat posed by Chinese ownership of TikTok. Bills passed by the US Senate and House of Representatives question TikTok’s presence in the US. These bills require ByteDance to sell TikTok or terminate its operations in the US.While TikTok’s future in the US is therefore being debated, the latest decision indicates that the plug will be pulled on TikTok. The bill concerning TikTok’s presence in the US, which has 170 million users in the US alone, was passed by the US Senate. With the Senate’s approval, the only thing left is for US President Joe Biden to sign this bill.

Law TikTok Bill Shaking the Agenda in the USA

Supporters of the bills argue that TikTok could jeopardize US national security and put the security of user data at risk because it is based in China. In particular, China’s rapid rise in technology and tensions in international relations make TikTok’s presence in the US controversial. However, opponents of the bills argue that banning or selling TikTok would violate users’ rights to free expression, negatively impact businesses and harm the US economy. They also emphasize that there is no concrete evidence that TikTok has shared US user data with the Chinese government.

TikTok’s fate reflects not only the future of a social media platform, but also the dynamics in international relations and the impact of technology on security and freedoms. Therefore, following developments in the US closely and participating in the debate on this issue can be an important step.

New Feature for TikTok

TikTok continues to improve itself while dealing with its busy agenda and litigation process. TikTok is working on a new feature to offer its users a more interactive experience. This feature will allow users to use their own voices in text-based voiceovers. Users will be able to add personal touches to their videos with the voices they will save in the platform’s library. This innovation of TikTok will allow users to use their voices more freely while simplifying content production. This feature has the potential to increase engagement on the platform by expanding the tools TikTok offers to creators.
