Apple has officially unveiled the long-awaited iPhone 16 series. The new lineup includes four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The entry models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, offer the same specifications except for the screen size. While Apple has innovated with the iPhone 16 series, it has made only minor changes in design compared to the previous series.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: What’s New?
In terms of design, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are largely similar to the iPhone 15. The most notable change is the rear camera layout. Apple has favored a square camera block since the iPhone 11, but on the iPhone 16, it has shrunk it down and positioned the two lenses vertically. In the new series, the LED flash has been moved outside this block. Also, the “Action Button” that was only available on the Pro models is now available on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The newly added “Capture Key” offers users a more practical experience, especially when taking photos. The models come in white, black, blue (ultramarine), green (teal) and pink color options and have a stylish and vibrant look.
The screen sizes are 6.1 inches for iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for iPhone 16 Plus. While both models offer a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, it can go down to 1 nit in low light. However, Apple’s ProMotion feature is not available on these models; the displays have a refresh rate of 60Hz.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max: Power and Performance
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, the most powerful models of the series, draw attention with the A18 Pro processor with 3 nanometer production technology. With cores clocked at over 4 GHz, processing power is maximized. These models outperform their competitors, especially in applications that require performance and artificial intelligence processes. The Pro Max model comes with a 6.9-inch screen, while the screen-to-case ratio has increased to 92%.
The camera features are also quite ambitious. The 48 MP main camera offers a professional photo shooting experience with its f/1.8 aperture and advanced image processing features. Apple draws attention with its camera system that promises high performance especially in low light.
Storage and Other Features
Storage options start at 128 GB for iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, with 256 GB and 512 GB also available. Both models also feature 8 GB of RAM and the new NPU-powered A18 chip, which enables active use of Apple Intelligence AI features.
All in all, the iPhone 16 series is particularly notable for its performance, camera features and small design touches, while the Pro models appeal to professional users with a much more powerful processor and larger screen options.
