Although DeLorean comes to mind when we think of flying vehicles, we have not yet reached that technology. However, with drone technology, we can meet this desire, even if a little bit. Chinese AeroHT, which has developed a magnificent design to meet this expectation, has perfected their magnificent design eVTOL with their parent company Xpeng. Those who are interested in the idea of flying cars will know. Xpeng is perhaps the first brand in this field. However, the brand does not come up with either XPENG X2 or eVTOL Flying Car designs. Xpeng impresses us with a completely different idea and design “Modular Flying Car”.
Xpeng Moduler Flying Car
The six-wheeled all-terrain vehicle, called the Moduler Flying Car, can transport and deploy a two-seater eVTOL aircraft. This marks a new level for multi-modal adventure travel. AeroHT previewed this interesting vehicle at Xpeng’s tech day last October. Now, the certification process of this futuristic vehicle is progressing rapidly. The company has already started taking the necessary steps to obtain Chinese airworthiness certification. Finally, AeroHT announced that the vehicle’s application for type certification has been accepted and the necessary steps have been taken to begin flight tests.
This vehicle is designed to be used both on land and in the air. The eVTOL part of the vehicle is two-seater, foldable and multi-rotor. This means that people can both roam freely over large areas of land and travel in the air (campers will love it). The vehicle is designed as a combined transporter, combining a six-wheeled all-terrain vehicle and an eVTOL.
All Terrain Vehicle and eVTOL in One
The Modular Flying Car looks set to be one of the most stunning sci-fi vehicles we have ever seen. The company aims to bring this dual-mode vehicle to market by 2025. This development reflects the company’s determination to pave the way for advanced technologies. The vehicle’s use scenarios include off-road adventures, search and rescue operations and wide terrain surveys.
The acceptance of AeroHT’s type certificate application by the Civil Aviation Administration of Central and Southern China (CAAC) is an important step towards the start of flight tests, but the vehicle’s availability for sale and licensing are still uncertain. AeroHT’s wild vision and Xpeng’s determination could lead to major changes in the transportation landscape of the future.
