While Apple announces new iPhone models every year in September, it could deliver the biggest operating system update ever with the iOS 18 update expected in 2024. According to Bloomberg, with the release of iOS 18, Apple could take a big step forward by introducing artificial intelligence to iPhone users.

This update comes as a result of Apple’s efforts in the field of artificial intelligence. The company is expected to integrate the big language model codenamed “Ajax GPT” into Siri. This will allow Siri to understand and respond to users’ needs in a smarter and more effective way. Moreover, the AI feature will not be limited to Siri; Apple plans to integrate this technology into other areas such as Apple Music, Pages and Keynote.

Artificial Intelligence Coming with iOS 18

Apple’s AI-focused move may also be indicative of the tech giant’s future plans. Ming-Chi Kuo, a leading Apple analyst, has suggested that the iPhone 17 series to be released next year may feature a chatbot called AppleGPT.

This could be seen as a sign that Apple is planning to integrate AI into the overall functionality of the device, rather than limiting it to Siri. However, these innovations may take time to roll out to users. According to Kuo’s predictions, Apple may want to test this technology before introducing AI to users on a large scale. This means that although iOS 18 will be introduced in 2024, AI features may be available to users in 2025 at the earliest.

Apple’s focus on artificial intelligence may not be limited to technological innovations. According to Kuo, Apple’s failure to keep up with developments in artificial intelligence could lead to a decline in iPhone sales. The analyst predicts that this year’s shipments may decline and this situation may continue next year. In addition to these developments, we can learn more about Apple’s future AI-focused plans at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2024) in June. At this event, more detailed information about iOS 18 as well as future iPhone models and AI features is expected to be shared.

Apple and Artificial Intelligence

The fact that iOS 18 is an AI-focused update can be seen as a reflection of Apple’s efforts to maintain its leadership in technology and improve the user experience. By providing iPhone users with a smarter and more effective experience, this update could strengthen Apple’s market position and drive the company’s future innovation efforts.
