The SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi’s high-performance electric prototype car, which constantly attracts attention with both its sales price and performance, broke the lap record on Germany’s famous Nürburgring track and attracted all the attention in the four-door sedan category. With an impressive time of 6:46.874 minutes, the SU7 Ultra completed the challenging course, beating the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s time of 7:07.55 set earlier this year. Xiaomi’s claim for this success in Ring seems to be just the beginning.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Specifications and Powerful Performance

Xiaomi says the SU7 Ultra can be used on the road, but for the record attempt, it lightened the interior and added a safety cage. Still, this did not detract from the car’s power. The three-engine, all-wheel drive hyper sedan has 1529 horsepower (1140 kW) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds. With a top speed of 350 km/h, the SU7 Ultra leads its class, beating the Lucid Air Sapphire’s 1234 hp, the Tesla Model S Plaid’s 1020 hp and the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s 1092 hp.

The vehicle’s large brake discs made of carbon ceramic and the Bilstein EVO T1 suspension system special for racing cars ensure that it maintains stability even at the highest speeds. Xiaomi introduced its first electric model SU7 last December and put it on sale in March. Preparing to exceed its planned production capacity of 100,000 units by the end of the year, the brand is planning to expand its factory to meet growing demand.

An Impressive Time on the Track

Xiaomi took a lightened version of the SU7 Ultra to the Nürburgring and the car was the fastest of the track’s four-door cars, despite losing power.

According to video footage, the car lost 12 seconds of power due to a pedal failure, but managed to maintain its record time. Following this trial, Xiaomi aims to bring the series to the production line in 2025, aiming for the title of the fastest mass-produced electric car in the sedan segment. With Xiaomi raising the bar for electric cars, it will be exciting to see how the tech giant will make an impact in the automotive world.
